Where is my car?
We shop, eat, laugh and then it was time to leave. After we paid our parking charges in one of those AutoPay machine, I asked her, so where is your car? I told her I parked at Basement B1 and she said, it should be the same. Within minutes, I found my car at the parking space and offer to drive Sis#2 to her car since it was already late.
Sis#2 said she parked somewhere in the middle row and there is a ATM machine near the entry to the shopping mall. We drove round and round at Basement B1 and couldn't locate her car. Sis#2 was getting a little panic. Then she said, maybe it is not this floor. We checked with one of the security guard with Sis#2 parking ticket (most parking ticket will show the entry point) and was told "Atas atas" (means Go Up). So we went up another floor, did the rounding again and still no sign of Sis#2 car. Checked with another security guard and got the same reply "Atas atas".
We tried at least 3 floors up from B1 before we finally located Sis#2 car and it was like 15-20 minutes doing our rounds at the Pavillion car park! Imagine that was me driving around in a car and it would definitely takes more time if you are walking around the car park.
So for those of you who always have this problem of locating your car at shopping complexes or anywhere else, here's my advice:-
- Snap a picture of the nearest pillar of where you have parked your car using your camera phone / camera (if you have one handy). This would help you to remember where you have parked by referring to the picture when it is time to leave.
- Remember the first shop that you saw when you stepped into the mall and try to exit at the same place / floor.
- Don't talk on the handphone when you leave your car so you get less distracted
- If all else failed, please contact the parking management office and asked the security guard to accompany you to the car....never walk alone and don't be a hero! I'm sure many of you still remember the story of Canny Ong at Bangsar Shopping Complex parking lot.

Me needs a new bag for Mother’s Day because …..
Well, it is not exactly for myself. The folks at Alicewonders.com and Mombloggersplanet.com are currently having a contest to give away a free bag for Mother's Day. As I had just blog about pledging a gift for the deserving Mothers with sick children at UMMC under the Project Mothering Mothers, I thought why not to pledge this bag if I win to one of the Mother. I hope it is not too late although I have already pledged 3 gifts!
I'm sure this little gift would brighten up the deserving Mother who has to care for her sick child. A lot of time, us mothers tend to neglect ourselves and place our children above everything else.
Mother's Day is about paying tribute to Mothers and I believe these Mothers with sick children would need our support the most for them to stay strong.
A nice and roomy bag like this one would best suit the Mother to store her daily needs if she needs to commute to and fro from home & hospital. I've also chosen RED and hope this would brighten up her day.

Pledge a gift for Mothers with sick children

Some of the Blog's authors that I have been following had initiated this project called Mothering Mothers for this coming Mother's Day. The project was first initiated by Lilian of 5XMom back in year 2004. The main idea is to distribute gifts to mothers who were in hospital to take care of their sick children and as such the project titled Mothering Mothers. It may be a small token of gift but it is the thoughts that count.
I know it is never easy to take care of a sick child and what's more, to take care of these terminally ill children. My heart goes all out to these Mothers with a heart of gold.
This is the first time I'm participating in this very meaningful project. I've already pledged my gifts. It is the lil' thing that I hope I could tell these Mothers that they are not ALONE.
Would you like to contribute too? However, please note the tight deadline for the gift is by tomorrow 8 May 2009. The volunteers will distribute these gifts to the mothers at UMMC on 9 May 2009.
If you want more information on this and how you can contribute, please feel free to hop over to Lilian's blog or the many volunteers below:

Update @ 11 May 2009
Got an updates from Christene that the Project was a great success this year. They have received more gifts than expected although the Project only started 10 days before the actual event date. The sight at UMMC was quite sad and if you want to read more, do hope over to the above mentioned blogs. I am too chicken to join them as I have a soft spot and definitely can't control my sob if I see a child in pain.

Review: The Westin Hotel, Kuala Lumpur

As mentioned in my earlier post, here's my review of my recent stay at The Westin Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The Westin Hotel is part of the Starwood Group.
Reservation:
Fast and easy over the phone. A credit card is required to secure the reservation. Cancellation policy is by 6pm on check-in date to avoid any cancellation charges. Confirmation is sent via e-mail promptly after the booking. A reminder e-mail is sent again 3 days before check-in. I find this really useful!
Check-in process:
Quite speedy and the front desk staff was really courteous and helpful. The front desk staff (forgot her name) even offer to put my wallet & hotel key card into my bag as I was busy carrying my toddler.
Some funny name concoction drink is also provided at the hotel lobby for hotel guests…. you can find name like Ginger Pineapple Drink, Chamomile Pear etc….cool!
I have also requested for a baby cot during reservation and the cot arrived within 5 minutes after I check into the hotel room.
Room:
We had booked the Deluxe City View room for RM250 nett / night using the Starwood Privilege voucher and thought it was a great deal since it was a public holiday & weekend (Normal rate for weekend cost around RM500++). The room comes with a king size bed, a long sofa, a writing desk & chair, 29’ TV, air-conditioner, in-room safe, mini fridge, mini kettle and complimentary coffee & tea making facilities. Other amenities provided include hair dryer, bath robe, slipper, laundry bag, complimentary drinking water (the hotel also provide additional bottled water during turn down service, if required!). At least they don’t limit the guest to 2 bottles / day like most hotel do.
Heavenly Bed? Not exactly as I find it too firm for my liking. The all-white linen was great though!
Werney and Anney posing for a shot
The Heavenly Bed and all-white linen
Separate shower and bath area
Heavenly cot? The complimentary baby cot is made from metal…..not something I like the most as I find the metal railing become really cold to touch in the air-conditioned room. It would be great if the hotel also provide cot bumper! Anyway, I think the cot mattress is okay as Anney slept well for the 2 nights.
Hotel view…..as it is a deluxe city view room, we have a room facing Pavilion and the surrounding buildings. Not too bad….I can see Gucci, Versace, Coach, Juicy Couture right from my room. The noise level is also minimal although the room is facing the busy Jalan Bukit Bintang.
Overall, the room is of good size with approximately 42 square meter with separate bath and shower.
Quite limited and I am rather disappointed with this. The hotel doesn’t even provide toothbrush and toothpaste....I thought this is the most basic bathroom supplies that a hotel could provide. However, they do have the basic no brand shampoo, hair conditioner, bath gel, lotion, cotton bud, cotton pad & nail buff. I was hoping to get either Crabtree & Evelyn or even Loccitane toiletries from this 5-star hotel. Unfortunately, no luck on this. Do they provide sewing kit? Sorry nope. And for guys, disposable shaver also not provided!
The limited bath supplies!
Swimming Pool:
Nice and clean but the water is freezing. Although the pool is outdoor (1 adult pool & 1 children pool), most of the time, the pool is shaded by some tall buildings around it and as such, didn’t get much direct sunlight. We dipped into the pool at 4 pm but the water was still cold! Hubby only dipped his leg and decided he has enough. Both Werney & Anney love the pool and they are really such water babies.
Westin Kids Club:
Well maintained with lots of games & toys for the kids. You can find slides, Playstation, Thomas train set, mini tent, board games, Lego, colouring activities, origami and lots of toys. Complimentary drinking water provided at Kids Club.
Very clean and they have a staff to supervise the kids. You can drop your kids from 2 to 12 years old at the Kids Club. The only drawback is it is chargeable at RM20/hour and subsequent hour at RM15.
Werney doing some colouring at Westin Kids Club
In-room dining:
Good selection of fusion food and they even have a kids menu. Every kid meal order comes with a complimentary colour pencil set. The in-room dining meal was served within the stated time of 30 minutes.
Other dining:
We tried the Dim Sum Brunch at EEST. The brunch cost RM88++ / adult and half price for children from 4-12 years old. This is definitely considered expensive and luckily we got the voucher to dine for free for 2 pax. The dim sum is freshly cooked as and when you order from the menu. Boy, the food here is really yummy & fresh. I love the caviar on top of the siew mai.
Siew Mai
Xiao Long Bao
Fried carrot cake
Fried Five Spice Chicken (left) / Fried Octopus with Coconut (right)
A varieties of dessert. Must try the mango pudding with chocolate wanton on top!
Location:
Superb. Located in the golden triangle and along the busy Jalan Bukit Bintang, you can find major shopping complexes like Pavilion,
What I like most about the hotel? I find the service was really good and the staff really want you to feel at home.
What I hate most about the hotel? The high charges for kids club & food!
Overall, we enjoy our stay there and don’t mind coming back again.

Looong weekend
As hubby didn't really fancy to drive outstation because of the horrendous traffic jam (it is always like this during holiday season in Malaysia), so we decided have a short break at a city hotel instead. As as Starwood Privilege member, we have some discounted voucher to stay at Westin Hotel Kuala Lumpur and we took up this opportunity to try out their Heavenly Bed. Both my angels also just love the hotel and the pool.
Also, we had Jasmine from www.two-pixels.net to come over to take our family photos during our stay there.
Will write more about Westin once I sort out the photos.
